Volunteer, Goodson Pottery Studio

Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that will allow you to share your passion for the arts with others? If you answered YES, then this is the opportunity for you! The Goodson Pottery Studio volunteers participate at least once per month to help with cleaning and maintaining the studio and is responsible for making glaze tiles, and repug. This volunteer position also assists with firing the kilns (electric and gas), cleaning kiln shelves and doing studio demonstrations. The ideal candidate will be creative, organized and highly motivated while assisting classes.

Our Ideal Candidate
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must have clay experience.
• Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs.
• Must be a current student/lab user or have recently taken pottery classes in order to have the basic knowledge of how the Goodson Pottery Studio set up and works.
• Has the ability to listen and follow directions/instructions from supervisory staff.
• Has the ability to follow workplace safety procedures introduced by staff.
• Has the ability to regularly exercise independent.
• Ability to self-direct and has awareness of studio space.
