About this Opportunity!

Position Summary:

Under the close supervision of the Office Manager, this position is responsible for scanning tickets at The Hudson Christmas Special Event. This position is required to work evenings and weekends. Most scanning shifts are 3 to 4 hours per day, reporting to work one hour prior to gates opening.

Essential Duties:

  • Provides superior customer service and strives to create a positive experience to promote on-going and repeat business. Greet patrons as they enter the facility and process transactions.
  • Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ensure that facility rules and safety standards are followed and assists in emergency situations such as evacuations, medical emergencies, suspicious behavior or activity, etc.
    • Attend a one-time training to learn the scanning process.
    • Attend work on a regular, reliable and punctual basis
  • Provide guest assistance at venue entrances.
  • Use ticket scanners (hand-held devices to validate ticket admission) at venue entrance.
  • Admit guests into A Hudson Christmas, who present a valid ticket, and deny access or redirect those who do not.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of handheld technology, such as smartphones and ticket readers.
  • Must have the ability to perform multiple functions at once and the ability to handle the public in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally; establish and maintain working relationships with employees and the public.

Material and Equipment Used :

This position regularly uses handheld technology, such as smartphones and ticket readers.

Working Environment :

The work is performed outdoors in the evening. Outdoor working environments can be wet, windy, snowy, and extreme in temperature variations, and loud background noises. This position is subject to continuous interruptions, background noises, and an array of distractions, i.e. music.

Physical Requirements :

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift/move up to 25 lbs. unassisted. Vision requirements include: near acuity, far acuity, and depth perception. Must exhibit manual dexterity to manipulate smartphones and ticket readers. The ability to talk and hear through face-to-face communication is needed.
