Youth Sports Instructor

Part-Time Summer

$14.95 - $16.00 per hour

If you have a passion for track, want to work with a dynamic team, are high energy, and want to help the next generation learn, then the Sports Instructor position is for you! This position is responsible for the supervision and instruction of the youth track programs The Sports Instructor will develop lesson plans and evaluate and assess skill level and progress of all participants.  This program runs from June 3rd to July 20th.  This is a variable hour position and may work up to 16 hours per week; day, evening, weekend and/or holiday hours may be required. Please note weekly work hours will vary. Program hours are M/W 9-10:30am, T/TH 6-7:30pm & Saturdays 7am-3pm (Saturday hours may vary).

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Must show ability to communicate aspects of sports to youth participants and parents.
  • Have sound knowledge of the sport rules and objectives.
  • Must show the ability to convey ideas to participants of various ages.
  • Be efficient in organizing and conducting practices.
  • Insure safe and proper instruction.
  • Convey ideals of sportsmanship.
  • Insure safety of all participants.
  • Able to maintain discipline and assist in handling concerns.
  • Oversee practice locations and evaluate conditions for safety.
  • Set-up fields for play and coordinate equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least seventeen (17) years of age.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be able and willing to follow instructions of provided lesson plans, remain engaged with participants and willing to learn fundamentals of assigned sport.
  • Prefer at least 1 year of experience in assigned sport area through athletics, teaching, coaching or competitions.
